Running tests

Select the “Run test” button from the individual test page. A pop-up will appear, where you can select all the platforms and resolutions. You have three tabs available: desktop, mobile and tablet.

Desktop configuration #

Under desktop, you will find options to run the tests on chrome, firefox and multiple resolutions. Keep in mind that each resolution will be applied to each browser. Selecting 3 resolutions and 2 browsers will result in 6 test runs.

Mobile configuration #

Mobile options available are:

  • Apple: iPhoneX, iPhone 8, iPhone8 Plus
  • Google: Pixel 2, Pixel 2XL, Nexus 5, 7 and 10
  • Samsung: Galaxy S5, S3 and Note 3

Under tablets, you will find the iPad and the iPad Pro.

Other settings #

After choosing the platforms, you will also have other customisations available:

  • Setting the timezone for the testing machine
  • Timeout: the maximum number of seconds to wait for an element to appear on the screen before failing the test.
  • Running tests in parallel (if applicable to your plan), which saves time until you get the results.
  • Custom HTTP authentication
  • Changing the Base URL for the tests. This helps you run the same set of tests on different environments, say if you have staging and production environments, without cloning the test suite and crowding the interface.

Finishing the test run wizard will start running the test in the cloud, according to the selected configuration. Once it is done, you can see the results, complete with steps performed, requests and screenshots from the test run.

If you want to schedule a test run for a later time, or use it like a monitoring check, see Smart runs.
